This is the Lamb Island Recreation Club (and our community ‘Pioneer Hall’ on the left), seen from the big expanse of turfed area that’s part of what I call the island’s ‘recreation precinct’. Until late last year, the building was a kinda pale-ish biscuit colour, but then the members painted it green and green. Personally, I think it’s a bit garish, but the club got the paint cheap – and for a small members-run organisation, that’s probably far more important than my effete opinion that nobody does real green like Mother Nature.
