In John Steinbeck’s delightful ‘Cannery Row’, there’s a peripheral character named ‘Henri the painter’, who deliberately never finishes the boat he’s building because he’s actually afraid of the sea. That’s not the case with the owner of this boat on Lamb Island. Okay, so he’s spent the last few years refurbishing it, and still has a way to go, but we’re sure it’ll get wet one of these days.
