The old joke goes that the chicken crossed the road to get to the other side, but the ducks above were on a more rewarding mission. Y’see, one of our Lamb Island residents puts out food for the seed-eaters around three every afternoon, and it’s become a de rigueur daily drop-in for many of the island’s birds. At 2:40pm these ducks were on their way from the island’s dam, up a low hill, across the street as above, through two vacant blocks (see below) out into the main drag, then left and along one door for the scheduled feeding.
