Shade sails. Literally.

The Lamb Island Recreation Club is run by its members for its members (kinda like how once upon a time democracy used to be by and for the people), and doesn’t have the massive income of its big-city cousins. So when the club members decided that it’d be a good idea to have some shade sails over their outdoor tables, they didn’t spend money on buying them. This being an island with a few yachties floating around the place, they used what was available at hand, and strung up a few real, albeit old, sails from yachts. I think there’s a certain island appropriateness there.
