Actually, there’s more than just a few Eastern Great Egrets around Lamb Island, most of them seeming to prefer wading in the foreshore shallows for their food. But I spotted this one this morning, Easter Sunday, standing quietly in a neighbour’s front garden, possibly hoping to find a chocolate easter egg in the foliage or maybe something even tastier in that pile of garden mulch. He or she (or maybe a second cousin) last shown here.
