Local colour.

Neither I nor a couple of people I’ve asked know what these flowers are called, or whether they’re native wildflowers or introduced ‘tameflowers’ gone feral, but they’re definitely brightening up one of the bushy areas of Lamb Island at the moment.

Update: I’m told they’re Crucifix Orchids (Reed Stem Epidendrums) from Central America.
