Brightening up the island.

One can’t blog about Lamb Island without including Rainbow Lorikeets (nor, because of their constant movement, can one get a decent shot of more than a couple of them at a time). They abound here, and compete quite fiercely with other seed-eaters, belligerently seeing-off much larger Cockatoos and Galahs when it comes to claiming feeding bowl rights. When a gum tree blossoms and seeds and attracts a huge flock of them, the activity (and noise) gets as intense as their outrageous colouring.
