The prawns are running in our back yard.

Rationally or not, here at Lamblog Central we consider the area of bay beyond our waterfront to be our personal back yard (well, only as far as the kilometre-or-so halfway to Russell Island, at which point we magnanimously concede the rest, because that’d arguably be going too far). And okay, we don’t mind waterbuses, barges and boats in general passing through it, but I’m not sure about the people in the above shot taken from our deck yesterday afternoon. Without even asking our permission, they were helping themselves to what I’d consider to be our prawns – at least while they’re moving through our back yard. Not that I mind local Islanders netting a feed – after all, out here we all consider the bay to be our back yard. But the word is that a fair few of these prawners have come out from the mainland, and frankly, I think they should restrict themselves to the prawns in their own suburban back yards.
