A blog about Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, Queensland – a unique little paradise under forty kilometres as the seagull flies from Brisbane CBD.
Because of restraints on time, and let’s face it, only limited material on a small island, some posts are being recycled/updated from earlier.
There’s not a comment facility, but if you have a question, you can use the email gizmo near the bottom of the right-hand column.

Some real ‘fresh food people’.

You can probably tell that the above picture wasn’t taken in a supermarket. It was shot (not by me) at a recent market event on Lamb Island, and everything on display/sale was grown locally. There’s a bunch of people out here on our Southern Moreton Bay Islands who call themselves the SMBI Food Growers Group – a community organisation developing a ‘local food supply chain’ they describe as ‘from field to fork’. And dare I say it, their membership is, um, growing. Their Facebook page is here.
