I’ve posted before about the pheasant coucals that live in the bushy undergrowth near our house. It’s not often that we see these famously ungainly fliers out in the open, but these shots from yesterday were almost ridiculous – the bird had somehow landed itself on the fairly unsupportive leaf spread of a grass tree growing through a specially-cut hole in our deck (it was there first).
