A blog about Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, Queensland – a unique little paradise under forty kilometres as the seagull flies from Brisbane CBD.
Because of restraints on time, and let’s face it, only a limited amount of material on a small island, we’re now recycling selected earlier posts.
There’s not a comment facility, but if you have a question, you can use the email gizmo near the bottom of the right-hand column.

Dining on a budget, island-style.
One of the cost-saving benefits of living out here in the bay is the price of seafood dinners, as in ‘free’. And because of recent rains flushing local creeks out into the bay, the mud crabs are currently ‘on the move’, as in ‘on the move into crab pots’. And thence onto island plates. Mind you, in my experience, every time I bust open a shell, a fair amount of a crab dinner somehow moves onto my shirt too.
BONUS BUDGET-BEATING EXTRA: Just to prove that you can never have too much of a good thing, the guys shown below were last weekend hauling in good feeds of prawns that were on special too.
