A blog about Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, Queensland – a unique little paradise under forty kilometres as the seagull flies from Brisbane CBD.

Certain parts of Moreton Bay are well marked.

If you look closely, you’ll see a gull on the ring at the top of this channel marker out in the bay. Cormorants like to use them for drying their feathers between dives and gulls find them a handy place to perch on while they’re, um, processing their lunch. Which is why these red markers (and their green counterparts) eventually wind up mostly white.
