A blog about Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, Queensland – a unique little paradise under forty kilometres as the seagull flies from Brisbane CBD.
Because of restraints on time, and let’s face it, only a limited amount of material on a small island, we’re now recycling selected earlier posts.
There’s not a comment facility, but if you have a question, you can use the email gizmo near the bottom of the right-hand column.

Now a slightly-better protected species.
Dugongs live in the bay around our islands, quietly grazing on seagrass and generally minding their own business, but because they’re slow swimmers, fast-moving propeller-driven boats can chop them around. Happily, our latest waterbuses are now jet-driven specifically so that such prop-strikes are eliminated and these guys (and turtles too) are just a little safer than they used to be. (And no, I’m not wet enough to pretend that’s my picture.) More about dugongs here.
