A blog about Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, Queensland – a unique little paradise under forty kilometres as the seagull flies from Brisbane CBD.
Because of restraints on time, and let’s face it, only a limited amount of material on a small island, we’re now recycling selected earlier posts.
There’s not a comment facility, but if you have a question, you can use the email gizmo near the bottom of the right-hand column.

Signs of bureaucratic overkill.
With only around four hundred of us living on Lamb Island, everybody knows the less-than-two-square-kilometres of the island fairly intimately and nobody drives very fast, so there’s never been a chance of anybody approaching this quiet corner without knowing about the sharp bend. But somewhere in some mainland bureaucrat’s rule book, there’s presumably some kind of requirement for direction signs to be installed in such cases. So now we all officially know what we all already knew – and we’re much safer for it.
