A blog about Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, Queensland – a unique little paradise under forty kilometres as the seagull flies from Brisbane CBD.
Because of restraints on time, and let’s face it, only a limited amount of material on a small island, we’re now recycling selected earlier posts.
There’s not a comment facility, but if you have a question, you can use the email gizmo near the bottom of the right-hand column.

Gurgle, gurgle, gargle...

One of the problems about presenting the essence of Lamb Island on a blog like this is that it's impossible to explain the quietness of the place. There's no constant background traffic hum, except for an occasional neighbour's car passing. For the most part, the only other sounds are birds. This fountain in our ficus-walled courtyard says something about the peaceful ambiance as well as the Lamb Island lifestyle. On a typically quiet laidback afternoon on the island, its happy little gurgling sound is the perfect accompaniment to a glass or three of dry white wine and cheese on crackers. And yeah, maybe some olives too.
