A blog about Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, Queensland – a unique little paradise under forty kilometres as the seagull flies from Brisbane CBD.
Because of restraints on time, and let’s face it, only limited material on a small island, some posts are being recycled/updated from earlier.
There’s not a comment facility, but if you have a question, you can use the email gizmo near the bottom of the right-hand column.

Driving across the bay.

The only way to get to and from Lamb Island by car is via the vehicular barge service which operates more-or-less hourly and takes around forty-five minutes. And sure, it's not as easy as getting to and from home in the 'burbs, but it's a damn sight prettier. Many islanders have 'mainland cars' that they park in special carparks near the Weinam Creek jetty, and use cheaper cars for getting around on their island, but others maintain just one car that they take to and from the mainland via the barge service. You can check out the barge service here.
